You generally write tools that let you build the maps (using your tilesets), buildings (using your tilesets), scripts, dialogue, etc. Once that's done, you can build new areas pretty quickly. On your own doing the graphics, tilesets, etc.and coding the game engine takes awhile. A game like this is relatively easy to make. Also, I've been a programmer for almost 30 years. NOWHERE did it say on BFG that we were not buying a complete game. Glad BFG FINALLY changed it some time last week FINALLY. What I don't love is the dirty sales tactics to make a buck. Love almost everything about the games to date. Hahahaha! "HONEST"? Dates for the next release keep changing, words to the ads had to be edited after oodles of complaints.how is this "HONEST"? I read the Amaranthian news and am a game programmer myself I'd feel it terrible if anyone mistook my (the producer's) intentions (like including a new game idea just for more money). The idea of the egg hatchery, the ability to learn different 'skills', the refreshing storyline and the lovely music even if the graphics are similar, ain't the display and utilisation of new ideas more important? We do not know the backstory, but for all who have played the other Aveyond games including Ahriman's Prophecy, I will say this is not bad. Looking at all these posts, I feel sad for Amanda.
